A chunk of ice drifted to shore. About a kilometer away, you can see just a hint of the pale grey line of ice. It separates the forest from its reflection in the lake.
Maybe the ice will be gone today!
A wilderness retreat away from it all! We have no road access, which for 27 years allowed guests to really escape from the civilized world. Many have enjoyed warm and comfortable nights' sleep in private log cabins, and woke to the sound of loons calling each morning. After a most wonderful winter season in 2011, the lodge will move on to new owners. Alas, they are not going to operate the lodge.
