A wilderness retreat away from it all! We have no road access, which for 27 years allowed guests to really escape from the civilized world. Many have enjoyed warm and comfortable nights' sleep in private log cabins, and woke to the sound of loons calling each morning.
After a most wonderful winter season in 2011, the lodge will move on to new owners. Alas, they are not going to operate the lodge.

Candle Ice
From the surface, the candle ice doesn't look a lot different from Tuesday, when I was able to walk on it. Yet, this ice was only an inch thick. Lots of fun to paddle through.
Yes, it's true! Allan and Viki have sold the lodge to a family who lives near North Bay. They were looking for someplace to get away from it all...to enjoy the quiet of the Northern Ontario forest. What could fit the bill better than Kukagami? Alas, they will not be carrying on the business.
