Strong south winds in the night blew away all the ice on April 3rd. What's left is piled high on shore here and there.
A wilderness retreat away from it all! We have no road access, which for 27 years allowed guests to really escape from the civilized world. Many have enjoyed warm and comfortable nights' sleep in private log cabins, and woke to the sound of loons calling each morning. After a most wonderful winter season in 2011, the lodge will move on to new owners. Alas, they are not going to operate the lodge.
